Performance Engineer

Innovative
Design and execute performance tests for web, API, and distributed systems
Build realistic workload models using production data and traffic patterns
Identify performance bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers
Perform deep analysis using JVM, OS, DB, and network metrics
Partner with developers to diagnose and fix performance issues
Validate scalability, capacity, and failure behavior under load
Support release readiness and go or no-go decisions
Participate in production incident analysis and postmortems
Improve system resilience through stress, endurance, and fault testing
Continuously raise performance engineering standards
Engineering practices
Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines
Build reusable performance frameworks and tooling
Automate data preparation, execution, and reporting
Define and track SLIs tied to performance and reliability
Use observability tools to correlate metrics, logs, and traces
Challenge unrealistic non-functional requirements with data
Collaboration
Work embedded with product and platform engineering teams
Translate business requirements into measurable performance goals
Communicate risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Contribute to design reviews from a performance perspective
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on performance engineering experience
Strong background in performance testing and system analysis
Experience with distributed systems and high-traffic applications
Proven ability to perform root cause analysis using data
Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
Technical skills
Performance tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, k6, or Gatling
APM and observability tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, or New Relic
JVM diagnostics, thread dumps, heap dumps, GC analysis
Database performance analysis and query tuning
Windows system performance analysis
Scripting in at least one language. .Net, C, Python, or Bash
Nice to have
Cloud platforms. AWS, Azure, or GCP
Kubernetes and container performance testing
CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
Chaos engineering or resilience testing experience
Exposure to SRE practices and incident management
