Job Summary

The Primary Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for teaching Social Studies/EVS to students of Classes I–IV in accordance with CBSE primary curriculum guidelines. The role focuses on developing awareness about self, family, community, environment, and basic civic values through engaging and age-appropriate teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

Teach Social Studies/EVS to Classes I–IV using interactive and activity-based learning approaches.

Plan and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with CBSE primary curriculum.

Introduce concepts of family, community, environment, history, geography, and civics through stories, visuals, maps, and real-life examples.

Encourage curiosity, discussion, and value-based learning among young learners.

Conduct class activities, projects, role plays, and group work to enhance understanding.

Assess students through worksheets, oral assessments, projects, and continuous evaluation methods.

Maintain student records, progress reports, and learning portfolios as per school norms.

Use ICT tools, audio-visual aids, charts, maps, and smart boards effectively.

Provide individual attention to support diverse learning needs.

Foster discipline, respect, teamwork, and positive classroom behavior.

Communicate regularly with parents regarding students’ academic progress and overall development.

Participate in academic planning, teacher training programs, and school activities.

Support co-curricular activities, celebrations of national days, and school events.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Graduate in Social Sciences/Arts (History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, or related discipline).

D.El.Ed / B.Ed. (mandatory as per CBSE norms).

Experience:

Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience at Primary level (CBSE preferred).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of primary Social Studies/EVS concepts.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Child-friendly, patient, and creative teaching approach.

Ability to design engaging activities, worksheets, and projects.

Basic proficiency in using digital teaching tools.

Desirable Attributes

Familiarity with NEP 2020 and Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN) framework.

Experience in activity-based and experiential learning methodologies.

Passion for teaching young learners and value-based education.
